The 2nd South Asia Broadband Communications Conference and Workshop

2 Dec

The 2nd South Asia Broadband Communications Conference and Workshop is a follow up to the successful first event that gathered world leading vendors, regional operators, service providers, regulatory agencies, channel partners, and the corporate customer sector in the extensive coverage of South Asia`s telecommunications industry transition in the internet area. This year`s event will continue strong coverage of the latest technology and regulatory developments, while focusing on the business case studies and development plans of the main operators and internet service providers in the region.

The South Asia represents one the fastest growing telecommunications markets with the large infrastructure build ups needed to serving the booming industry and growing middle class. The lack of entrenched solutions represents the opportunity to leapfrog the generations of technology developments in the telecommunications, and utilize the modern cost effective internet based solutions. On the other hand telecom operators in the region are challenged by the fierce competition among themselves, and cost sensitivity of the major part of the addressable residential and business customer base. For them it is more important then ever to make educated decision about the technology choices for the infrastructure, and to differentiate themselves with the types and quality of services, and business models that will benefit their customers. The main objective of the conference is to provide the forum to help them out in that process by exchanging the best practices across the borders of the region, and bringing the potentials of their services to the business customers through the highly informative conference sessions.

The 2nd South Asia Broadband Communications Conference is covering broadband deployment in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. It is scheduled to be held November 26 and 27, 2009 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The program includes keynote presentations by government officials and business executives, techno-marketing presentations from the world leading vendors and regional broadband service providers, as well as panel discussions covering the potentials of the broadband service in the business applications of the emerging economies in South Asia.
